Temperature guide by material

Quartz

Sweet spot: 500–600°F. Best flavor, fastest heat-up, most common. Let it cool longer on thick bottoms; use a carb cap.

Titanium

600–700°F. Nearly unbreakable, holds heat longer — wait a bit more before dabbing. Season it first. We carry quartz — the same timing applies.

Ceramic

550–650°F. Even, clean heat but slow to warm up and easy to thermal-shock — never torch it cold and hard.

E-nail / E-rig

Set 500–600°F and skip the torch. Consistent every time; great for low-temp flavor.

Low temp vs. high temp

Low

450–550°F — Most flavor, smoother, easier on the throat, and more reclaim left in the banger.

Mid

550–650°F — The everyday balance of flavor and vapor.

High

650°F+ — Big clouds, harsher, terpenes burn off, and the banger gets dirtier faster.

How to use the timer

  1. Pick your banger thickness (2mm or 4mm).
  2. Pick your torch: Blazer Big Shot, Blazer Big Buddy, a medium cigar torch, or a gas station torch. Adjust the heat-up and cool-down seconds if you like.
  3. Want a specific temp? Set the target temp and the cool-down updates to match.
  4. Tap Start. Heat the banger evenly until it says COOLING, wait it out, and dab at DAB NOW!
  5. Your last setup is remembered on this device for next time.

Warning & disclaimer

Warning: A heated banger can exceed 1,000°F. Never touch or move a hot banger, and keep the lit torch away from anything flammable, your hair, and your clothing. Never leave a torch burning unattended, and keep torches and hot glass away from kids and pets. Set hot bangers down only on heat-safe surfaces, and never shock hot quartz with cold liquid — it can crack.

Disclaimer: The times and temperatures on this page are estimates from a simple heating/cooling model, not measurements. Real results vary with torch fuel level, flame distance, ambient temperature, banger shape and thickness, and wear. For actual readings, use an Dab Rite infrared thermometer. 710 Pipes is not responsible for injury or damage; use at your own risk. For adults of legal age only. Nothing here is medical advice.
