In this post, the team at the 710 Pipes vape shop in Denver will go over some nifty vape tricks that will enable you to become the Gandalf of your inner circle.

Vape Tips and Tricks from the Denver Vape Shop Team

Once you understand the basic mechanics of creating smoke (or vapor) rings and other effects all that’s left for you to do is practice until it becomes second nature. With that in mind we’ve brought together a variety of vape tricks that will ensure you’re the life of the party. Pay close attention and take notes if you have to. Or better yet bookmark this page and return to it whenever you need a refresher course.

That said, let’s get started.

Trick #1: Blowing smoke rings

Smoke rings are the oldest trick in the book. But despite the fact that people have been creating them for hundreds of years, surprisingly few people actually know how to do it. Our feeling is if you’re going to learn some vape tricks you might as well start with a classic. So here’s how to make Ye Olde smoke rings using standard vaporizers.

  • Start by taking a hit and pulling it into the back of your throat. Resist inhaling it all the way.
  • Make sure your tongue is laying flat on the bottom of your mouth.
  • Make the shape of an O with your lips.
  • Now here’s the part you need to practice: push small pulses of vapor-filled air from the back of your throat out through your lips, one pulse every second or two.
  • If you want narrow rings of vapor, keep your lips pursed out like you’re going to kiss someone. If you want fatter doughnut-like rings tuck your lips inward.

The more you practice pushing air out of the back of your throat the better you’ll get at it and the clearer and more focused your vapor rings will be. It might help to think of these pulses of air like coughing.

Trick #2: The dragon

If you were a Game of Thrones fan and you often found yourself imagining you had a couple of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons this vape trick is the next best thing. With just a little practice you can become the dragon yourself. Here’s how it’s done.

Take a big drag off your vape but don’t inhale it all the way. Once you’ve got a mouthful of luminous white vapor, push it forcefully out through your nose and mouth simultaneously. This actually sounds a lot easier than it is because our system is trained to either exhale through our mouths or through our nose, not both. So it’s going to take practice, but we’re sure you’re up to the challenge.

Trick #3: The ghost inhale

This trick actually has several different names depending on who’s performing it. Some call it the “snap inhale” and others the “mushroom cloud”. But the most common name tends to be the ghost inhale so that’s what we’ll go with. Here’s how you do it.

Start by taking a long draw off your device and hold the vapor inside your mouth for a few seconds, then open your mouth and let the vapor drift out for a couple of seconds before performing a sudden inhale. This snaps the vape cloud back into your mouth creating a visual that is much more impressive when seen in person than when it’s described on a web page.

Trick #4: The waterfall

Up to this point, all of our tricks have involved pulling a big hit of vapor into your mouth and then manipulating it in some way. The waterfall is a little different. For this one you’ll need your vape of course but you’ll also need a bottle. Put an inch or two of water in the bottom of the bottle and put it in the freezer (don’t cap the bottle). Once the water has frozen, remove the bottle and place it on the table.

Fire up your vape, take a long drag and then exhale the vapor directly into the bottle. Once the bottle is full, tip it on its side. The vapor will pour out of the bottle in a strange and compelling way as if it’s liquid, creating a waterfall effect.

Trick #5: The French inhale

Cigarette smokers have known about this one for a hundred years or more but it tends to go in and out of fashion. The technique’s name hints at its origins, as does its secondary name; “Irish Waterfall”. But nomenclature aside, here’s how it’s done.

Take a big hit off your vaping device. Hold the hit in your mouth for a second then open your mouth, extend your jaw and allow the vapor to start leaking out and up. Once it does, perform a steady inhale through your nose. It will look like the vapor is “falling” upward into your nostrils.
